MUSIC MAKING A DIFFERENCE?
We love the fact so many of you think what we do is great - your support means everything to us. But we hate this bit...you know what we mean, the part where we have to pester you for your hard earned pennies and somehow persuade you to press a button to give what you can to help keep us going...Since so many of our supporters are parents and teachers it feels especially hard - how can we possibly ask you for your pocket money when we know the latest pair of trainers you've had to fork out for has quite possibly broken the bank...
I guess all we can really say is this...if you feel the work we do really does have an impact on children and young people's lives then you too can make a difference - whether it's spare change, a secret nest egg or a little miracle that made you a millionaire...contributions are always welcome.
And for those of you who don't know us already...
WHY DO WE NEED SUPPORT?
- PMZ is a not-for-profit charity and the funding we currently receive is due to be phased out from next year - so we have to find alternatives if we want to secure our future...
WHO BENEFITS?
- Everyone we come into contact with benefits. PMZ works with young people who sometimes live in difficult and challenging circumstances. We believe many social and behavioural problems can be due to lack of self-esteem and self-confidence. But we firmly believe MUSIC can be used to help young people develop a sense of self-worth and personal achievement.
SO, YOUR DONATIONS COULD HELP TO:
- Enthuse and inspire children and young people who may not normally have the opportunity to learn and enjoy music
- Provide free and much needed after-school and holiday clubs
- Help children and young people gain confidence and interpersonal skills
- Introduce singing and music at a very early age - proven to enhance language development, self-confidence and communication skills
- Help young people and adults with learning and physical disabilities engage in creative and enjoyable music-making experiences
- Work with young people who are excluded from school - including young offenders and young people at risk of offending, young people with mental health related difficulties and those who're struggling with emotional and behavioural difficulties

As a charity and not-for-profit company, activities you book or ‘buy into’ will help us to survive. This means that any underspent revenue created goes straight back into our music-making programme...

TRUSTS AND FOUNDATIONS
Plymouth Music Zone uses music to make a difference in more far reaching ways than we ever imagined. As such, we are increasingly involved in tackling many social issues in areas like health, welfare and youth justice. We hope to find several suitable charitable partners who share a belief in what we do and who relish the thought of achieving our goals with a combined expertise and investment.
