Space for Sport and Arts
Plymouth Music Zone is one of four fantastic Space for Sport and Arts facilities in the city. These were built to try and encourage people to do more sport and arts activities - to put the centres at the heart of the communities they serve.
As well as PMZ's state-of-the-art music education facility in Devonport there are also 3 equally amazing Spaces attached to primary schools - at Bull Point, Plym View and Whitleigh. Unlike PMZ, these are actually available for hire for as little as £5 an hour for a drama suite or sports hall...you're the one who profits.

Sports Hall
Ideal for sport activities as well as music, drama, dance and performance. Easy access to toilets, showers, changing rooms and baby change facilities. Also has the added benefit of black-out blinds and storage for equipment.

Music and Drama Suite
This room has great acoustics with carpeting, black out blinds, silent heating and stage lighting ideal for display and performance opportunities. An excellent venue for music, drama, soft play and the arts. Can also be used for other activities like aerobics, yoga, meetings or as a crèche.

Plus
A fully equipped ICT suite with 16 computers with broadband great for adult learning groups or special projects. There’s also an entrance foyer with directional lighting and good natural light for an ideal exhibition space, not to mention a chill out community room to put your feet up and have a cup of tea.

Performing Arts Space
Excellent venue with modular staging, tiered audience seating and a woodsprung floor. The hall has high level blackout blinds with great acoustics and dimmer stage lighting. Ideal for rehearsal, drama, dance, music and movement for schools and the community.

Sports Hall
Well-lit and ventilated with court markings for a whole range of sporting activities. Easy access to toilets, showers, changing rooms and baby change facilities.

Entrance Foyer/Exhibition area which is an ideal meeting area with tables and confy chairs provided with a handy servery with kitchen facilities to make refreshments. Great natural light and directional lighting for use as an exhibition space.

MUGA (Multi Use Gym Area)
A caged hard surface playing area ideal for basketball, football, netball etc with excellent rebound qualities and floodlights for evening use.
Drama/Dance Studio
Sprung wooden floor and blackout facility with a digital lighting system and wiring in place to support digital sound recording. Changing facilities located nearby.
Recording Studio - the studio connects to 3 independent recording spaces with the same high spec recording equipment as PMZ's studio. It could be hired to suitably qualified technicians or groups undergoing supervised training.
Plus
Music Room - an ideal rehearsal facility for music or theatre groups. Excellent sound system with an interactive whiteboard, piano and electric clavinova available within the space.
Art Room (with Kiln) - wonderful for practical and art and creative activities with plenty of workspace, access to a sink and kiln and drying room. The room also has an interactive whiteboard.

To book or check out the hire charges please call the Space you're interested in directly - during school hours 9am-3.30pm. Facilities are available after-school and evenings, weekends and during holidays but must be booked in advance.
