At the end of December 2024, after 50 years, Stoke Damerel Pre – School had to close. Our PMZ music leader, Josie had been leading weekly music making sessions with the Pre – School for over 6 years; the sessions were always filled with wonderful singing (from both the children and adults!) and a bunch of instruments based activities – ‘loud and quiet’ conductors, playing what emotions ‘sound like’, ‘play out your name on the drum’ and a Stoke Damerel special ‘the two bell race’!
We’re incredibly sad that our community has lost this wonderful Pre – School, over the many years we’ve worked together we’ve valued the pre-school’s partnership and support immensely. Everyone here at PMZ, and especially Josie, felt it was important to give a gift that celebrated the pre-school’s hard-working team and the huge impact it’s had on the community and what better way for us to do that than through music.
