South West Music School

A music charity working with talented young instrumentalists, singers and composers aged 8-18yrs in the South West. Due to the geographical nature of the South West they don't have a building but are a 'virtual' school working with young people on an individual basis in their local area.

Federation of Music Services (FMS)

The FMS was set up in 1996 to offer information, expertise and advice to Music Services. Around 150 Music Services are already members representing over 500,000 pupils and 10,000 teachers.

Live Music Now

Live Music Now specialises in organising performances and workshops in outreach settings, delivered by specially trained, young professional musicians. PMZ is currently delivering a 2 year programme of Live Music Now activities in schools across Plymouth.

Music Education Council

The Music Education Council is the umbrella body for all organisations connected with music education in the United Kingdom. It provides a forum for those organisations to debate issues affecting music education.

The National Association of Music Educators (NAME)

Exists to support its members by providing a national voice for music education. It offers a forum for professional exchange through local, regional and national events, promoting professional development of members.

Plymouth Music Collective (PMC)

PMC is a not-for-profit community music project. It offers recording studios, rehearsal rooms, show promotion, event support and music industry and advice.

Sound Sense

Sound Sense is the UK development agency for community music. It promotes the significance and value of community music and helps the professional development of people practising and participating in it.

The Plymouth RESPECT Festival

The Plymouth Respect Festival is an annual celebration of Plymouth’s multiculture, fusing colours, music, vibrancy, performance, arts and information.It is, for the second time, taking place over two days at the end of October, based around the Guildhall and City Centre Plazas. 

Wren Music

Wren Music is Devon’s Folk and Community Arts Development Organisation

Plymouth Jazz Club

Plymouth Jazz Club is a not-for-profit organisation for the promotion of jazz music in the Plymouth and surrounding area with at least two live gigs each month featuring the best of local and national Jazz.


Drake Music Project

A national project that enables disabled children and adults to fully access musical opportunities.


Powerpack is a Devon based group formed to enhance the lives of young wheelchair users by giving them the opportunity to interact with other young people and family members through art projects, sports events and social occasions.

Professional recording studio facility providing nationally recognised Sound Engineering Courses, Music Technology Courses and Music Production courses.

Plymouth Youth Music Service (PYMS)

PYMS provides support and advice to Plymouth schools wishing to commence instrumental or vocal tuition and to schools where tuition is already in place. They are now leading the new Plymouth Music Hub and Plymouth Music Zone is one of the partners.
