PMZ OPEN ZONE SESSIONS

We deliver around 50 music workshops every week to all kinds of places all over Plymouth and beyond. Some are activities open to all, held at Plymouth Music Zone. There's something for every level so don't be shy! Find out what clubs are available in the timetable below or just give us a call on 01752 213690 if you're not sure which one is best for you.

  • Parents/carers need to complete an enrolment form
  • There is a small donation of £3 for most clubs

 BB    BATON BEATS

Monday, 18:30 - 20:00
Location: PMZ Main Hall

For adults (18+) wishing to learn and develop their skills in a a wide range of drumming styles from around the world. All levels are welcome, whether you're a beginner or an advanced percussionist. A lively and energetic group where you'll be made to feel welcome, make friends and forget about everything that's going on in the world - just for a little while! Music leader and percussionist Rob will love to hear from you so give us a call on 213690.

Tuesday, 15:00 - 16:00
Location: PMZ Main Hall

For adults (18+) affected by stroke, along with partners/those that care for them. In partnership with the Stroke Association, this is a sing-along group where you will enjoy a lovely cup of tea and probably some cake!

Wednesday, 14:00 - 15:00
Location: PMZ Main Hall

A weekly music making activity for adults 18+ with disabilities. This session is suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to more experienced musicians who love singing and making music. Join us for some great music-making sessions! Ring us on 213690 to enquire about reserving yourself a place as this is a very popular session and we often have a waiting list. Music leaders Dave and Shane will be delighted to hear from you!

 DIGI    DIGITAL ORCHESTRA

Thursday, 10:30 - 11:30
Location: PMZ Main Hall

Using a wide range of digital technology, musicians and singers with disabilities compose, create, play and perform digital music as part of a group led by PMZ music leaders and techno wizards Stevie B and Deb. Innovative, exploratory, creative and exciting, this is a fabulous session to just let your imagination do its thing! Give us a ring on 213690 to reserve your place as this is a very popular session and sometimes has a waiting list.

Plymouth's first ever choir for the LGBT+ community and friends.

Location: PMZ Sensation Music Station

A special session in PMZ's 'Sensation Music Station' (sometimes called a musical tardis!) for children and young people (4+) with diagnosed disabilities. A small group, this is a lovely, gentle, fun-filled singing and music-making session with Music leaders Dave and Jodie. Give us a ring on 213690 to reserve a place for you and your child.

 JAM    JAM BAND

Wednesday, 16:00 - 17:00
Location: PMZ Main Hall

One of the most diverse and much loved clubs at PMZ, Jam Band is for ages 8 - 12 and is suitable for beginners and less experienced singers and instrumentalists. Choose your songs, learn to play them together, have fun, make friends and make music! Please give us a ring on 213690 to let us know you'd like to come to Shane's Jam Band session.

For 12 - 18 year olds who are confident in singing or playing an instrument and who would like to be part of a band. The group will have recording and performance opportunities. A lovely bunch of skilled musicians will make you feel welcome so do join us and come and make music! If that's you, Shane and Jodie would love to hear from you. Ring 213690 to arrange!

 ITZ    IN THE ZONE

Thursday, 13:00 - 15:00
Location: St Luke's, Turnchapel

This is a fortnightly music making group for those who have been bereaved, whether having been involved with St Luke's or not. A lovely session of singing and creativity and a chance to meet with others facing similar challenges.
