We’re always on the lookout for talent and passion and Music Leaders who can deliver in the PMZ style. The professional reputation and loyalty we’ve built up over the years mean everything to us. We’re trusted – and we’re only as good as our Music Leaders, so we really value the people we work with. So what’s this ‘style’ we care about so much?
PMZ is about quality and innovation as well as fun and inspiration.
At PMZ it’s not just about notes on a page, it’s about learning to use music to make connections that inspire our participants, young and old – even in some of the most challenging environments. PMZ is a charity so developing the skills and health and wellbeing of our participants and making the world a happier and more compassionate place is our main focus. We use music to help support, develop and empower people to come together to enrich their lives and enhance a sense of self and community – especially those people who may be vulnerable in some way. We help build confidence, hope and resilience. So it’s more than music…
At the heart of everything we do is that special ingredient – we only use Music Leaders who believe in the power of what they do. We need community musicians who are passionate about helping people use music in their lives to move forward and make a difference.
PMZ is very keen to promote diversity and inclusivity and so we really encourage all people to apply. Our music leaders have come different training routes – some are academic with degrees or doctorates in music. Others have followed less conventional paths, may be self-taught and some may have successfully used music to overcome problems in their own lives.
So does that sound like you? Would you like to apply to join the PMZ Music Leader Pool and be considered for work?
If you’d like to be considered to join our ‘Pool’ then read on to find out if it’s what you’re looking for …
Music Leader Registration Form
If you’re interested in joining us as a Sessional Music Leader, please be aware that sessional music leaders join PMZ’s ‘Music Leader Pool’ and are considered for selection only when our funding provides opportunities to deliver new music making sessions. This means that even after a successful application, you probably won’t get work straightaway.
Covid-19 Update for Applicants: We are facing uncertainty as much as everyone else during these times, but we still welcome applications from people interested in applying to us. If you feel you’re just right for our team, complete a Music Leader Registration Form and return with a covering letter to Plymouth Music Zone (either by post or by email to info@plymouthmusiczone.org.uk). As well as your musical abilities, it’s essential you include your experience and skills in engaging and working creatively with children and young people or vulnerable adults.
We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
