With just days left of 2023, Plymouth Music Zone has been echoing with the sound of festive giggly joy with hundreds of music loving PMZ participants sharing their end of year performances in true PMZ style.

From antler wearing marimba players, Santa hat wearing scat singers, husband and wife bell tinkling duos and hundreds of young children in nurseries beside themselves with musical sparkle. Music of every shape and size – all held together with love (and a few mince pies in recent days).

None of this would be possible without the continued support of all our funders, supporters, partners and amazing PMZ participants and all their families and friends. 5000 people in any average year make their mark on music through Plymouth Music Zone – a sense of togetherness that certainly leaves its wonderful mark on us too.

The PMZ team would like to give special thanks to our key funders Arts Council England and Youth Music, as well as those many smaller funders who helped us to jack up the joy this year – including the Livewell Foundation, Clare Milne Trust, National Lottery Fund, Plymouth Astor Trust, Leigh Trust, David Gibbons Foundation and many more.  Despite current considerable challenges across the sector we aim to do all we can to keep the music going across communities in 2024. Thanks to you.

Until then, the Plymouth Music Zone team will be taking a proper cosy rest over the next two weeks. That means we’ll be closed from Thurs 21 Dec 2023 until Thurs 4 January 2024.

So, we wish you a very gentle, peaceful and happy holiday and look forward to seeing you back with us for more music making a difference in 2024.

With love and thanks from the PMZ team xx

PS If you still have any festive pennies left and wish to donate to our festive fundraiser you can do so here via our JustGiving PMZ Festive Jukebox.  And do share your favourite song with us. It’s been running across our facebook page for the past few days and is shaping up to possibly be the most eclectic jukebox ever!
